Starting from the sports track in Happy Valley
you will make your way across the polo field, over the road (stewards in
place) and onto an established gravel track. After approximately 1K you
will start to ascend a steep and prolonged rugged track that is capable
of reducing the fastest of runners to walking pace. This is where you
need to dig in and where any prior hill work is sure to pay off! For
your efforts, as you look down at the top of the track, you will be
rewarded with panoramic views of Episkopi and the Mediterranean Sea and
be able to take on some fluids at the water area. Knowing that you have
now completed the hardest part of the course you will head down hill on
a tarmac road before it turns into an established track. You will then
turn back on yourself up a slight incline before entering the fast
section of the course. At this point you could kick back and take it
easy or RUN LIKE THE WIND, the latter being a must for any of the EPI
Runners and SSAFA Staff. This will take you down to the Roman path
(rugged in places), locally referred to as the ZIG ZAG, before picking
up the gravel track leading back to Happy Valley and finishing on the
track.Good luck!
